As a Senior Transportation Project Manager, you will perform oversight of planning and engineering support for procurement, scheduling, budgeting, administration, design, construction, operations and maintenance of Design-Bid-Build (DBB) and Design-Build (DB) projects. This position will give you the chance to work on exciting transportation projects that will require your expertise, experience, and leadership as you proactively identify and solve complex problems; take a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions; and guide others in solving complex issues.
In this role, other activities include:
Lead and manage GEC projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Oversee the setup of Design-Build projects, including pre-procurement activities.
Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
Provide project oversight, management, and audit activities.
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and quality control plans.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless project execution.
Prepare and present project reports to senior management and clients.
Manage project risks and communicate challenges to leadership and project teams.
Understand contract documents, plans, specifications, and construction methods.
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering.
At least 10 years relevant experience.
Texas Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or the ability to obtain within 6 months based on P.E. license from another state.
Experience with multiple project delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, Progressive-Design-Build, CMAR, etc.).
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Willingness to co-locate with clients as required.
Ideally, youll also have:
TxDOT and/or other transportation agency experience on a large program.
TxDOT Precertification in category 23.9.1 General Engineering Consultant (GEC) Project Services (Contract Project Manager) or qualifications to obtain it.
Familiarity with TxDOTs procurement processes and requirements.
Experience working with Houston, Austin, and San Antonio transportation agencies
