JOB DESCRIPTION
Electrical Engineering Technician
Position Summary:
OPEX Corporation is currently looking for a full time Electrical Engineering Technician to work at our World Headquarters in Moorestown, NJ. This position will apply electrical theory and related knowledge to construct, test and modify electrical components and equipment. Works closely with the engineering staff, as well as the production department. Responsibilities:
Assemble electrical and electronic systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments.
Review existing electrical engineering criteria to identify necessary revisions, deletions or amendments to outdated material.
Plan method and sequence of operations for developing and testing experimental electronic and electrical equipment.
Provide technical assistance and resolution for electrical or engineering problems during production
Modify electrical prototypes, parts, cable assemblies, assemblies, and systems to correct functional deviations.
Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions, and record results.
Collaborate with electrical engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental problems.
Analyze and interpret test information to resolve design-related problems.
Prepare project cost and work-time estimates.
Must be a team player with the ability to work in a team with Mechanical, Software Engineers, Production Factory members, Field Service Technicians and install teams
Knowledge of Electrical Platforms and Safety Standards to make changes to equipment wiring, power connections, control panel changes, etc.
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
2 year degree in Electrical Engineering/Electronics or Tech School equivalent
5+ Years prior engineering technician experience is preferred
Experience with circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software
Understanding of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
Skilled in troubleshooting and critical thinking
Skilled in design techniques, tools, and principals involved in producing technical plans, blueprints, drawings, prototypes and models.
Knowledge of Oracle, ECO, Altium, WireWorks, and ECAD systems preferred
Effective written and verbal communication skill
Physical/Work Environments:
Employee will primarily be working in a warehouse / office environment
Sitting and standing for extended periods of time
Some walking between facilities
Employee will frequently lift up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
