Job Description:
Overview:
This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of engineering and project management for drainage modeling, planning, and design projects. Clients may include public agencies, private developers, and utility districts. The role involves technical leadership, client engagement, and team development to ensure successful project execution from concept through completion.
Responsibilities:
Prepare project proposals, budgets, and client agreements
Lead and manage the design and technical execution of projects, including detailed engineering design, calculations, reports, permitting, and client presentations
Develop responses to Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) and solicitations
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, public officials, and community stakeholders
Coordinate and monitor project tasks, budgets, and schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
Mentor and support the technical and professional growth of project team members
Contribute to the development and implementation of company design and production standards
Prepare creation reports and bond applications for utility district projects
Attend regular board meetings for utility districts, as required
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related field
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
10+ years of experience managing significant hydrology, hydraulics, and general water resources projects
Minimum of 10 years of experience in water resources engineering, including responsibilities in design and project management
In-depth knowledge of large-scale channel modeling, analysis, and plan production
Expertise in master planning for urban watersheds, including open channel and storm drainage systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams
Proven track record of building and maintaining professional relationships with clients and stakeholders
Active involvement in professional and civic organizations
Ability to work Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm with overtime as needed
