Job Description We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Electrical team and MEP group at our growing RTP office as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Electrical Engineer. - Act as a technical expert in support of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and telecommunication systems for design projects as part of a multi-discipline project team to produce electrical design/construction drawings and specifications for institutional, commercial, and industrial facilities.
- Serve as the lead electrical engineer, providing technical and design services in support of projects as part of a multi-discipline project team.
- Direct and conduct technical evaluations of electrical equipment/systems, control systems, and prepare design computations and assessments.
- Ensure the completion of electrical engineering design tasks within budget and on schedule.
- Communicate and coordinate technical evaluations and designs, technical writing of reports and correspondence with other discipline professionals, as well as with a Project Manager and representatives of the client organization to complete work efficiently.
- Stay current with local, state, and federal design standards and regulations.
- Develop new work and clients related to electrical engineering services for institutional, commercial, and industrial facilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Possession of a North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to acquire it quickly through reciprocity.
- 8+ years of relevant experience.
- High technical ability with an interest in technology and staying current in the field.
- Strong communication skills and being a self-starter.
- An interdisciplinary systems approach to engineering, enjoying drawing upon different disciplines.
- Experience with financial metrics and data analytics to derive the best solutions.
- Experience in electrical power engineering and drawing sets in CAD or Revit.
- Familiarity with MEP work for buildings and comfort with the NEC, NESC, IEEE standards, with a willingness to learn more.
- Ability to think outside the box, come up with creative ideas, and present them to the team, clients, and the world.
