Mechanical Engineer
Location: Decatur, IL (On-site)
Job Type: W2 Contract, potential to convert
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM CST
Pay Rate: $42 - 48/hourly with optional benefits packages including paid holidays, PTO, medical insurance, and 401k
Position's Contribution to Work Group
Provides drivetrain design support for Large Mining Trucks, Off-Highway Trucks, and Wheel Tractor Scrapers.
Supports current product issue resolution for final drives, differentials, brakes, wheel groups, torque converters, transmissions, and electric drive systems.
Supports new product development for the above-mentioned drivetrain products.
Typical Task Breakdown
Root cause investigation of field issues, design of solutions, release, and implementation.
New product concepts, design development, and implementation.
Factory issue support, design & process issue investigations, and supplier support.
Creo modeling & drawings for designs.
Collaboration with internal and external process partners.
FMEA, APQP, PPAP support.
Education & Experience:
8-10+ years of experience.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Top Skills Required:
Critical thinking and problem-solving.
Mechanical aptitude.
Knowledge of rotating component design.
Technical Skills:
Required: Creo modeling and drawings.
Desired: Understanding of design, manufacture, and assembly of rotating components.
Soft Skills:
Required: Communication, collaboration, teamwork, eagerness to learn, and a desire to make a positive impact for end customers.
