Project Manager

We're seeking an experienced engineering professional who can lead the delivery of automation projects involving hydraulically controlled industrial machinery. The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge of fluid power systems with the leadership skills to manage cross-functional automation projects from concept through commissioning.

This role bridges mechanical, hydraulic, and controls disciplines, ensuring robust, well-integrated systems are delivered to spec, on time, and on budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead automation projects from kickoff to customer handoff, involving hydraulically actuated equipment.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers to define system architecture and sequencing logic.
  • Interpret hydraulic schematics, and control panel layouts.
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders including fabricators, field technicians, controls integrators, and OEMs.
  • Oversee system startup, testing, and troubleshooting during in-house builds, FATs, and customer-site commissioning.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for customers during project execution.
  • Take responsibility for the financial performance of assigned projects, including cost control, margin protection, and change management.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in industrial automation or hydraulics, with at least 3 years leading projects.
  • Working knowledge of industrial hydraulic systems, including valves, pumps, cylinders, and accumulators.
  • Familiarity with automation control hardware and integration with fluid power systems.
  • Able to read and create hydraulic, pneumatic, and control schematics.
  • Experience with ERP systems and project tracking tools (e.g., MS Project, Monday.com, Rivet).
  • Strong communication skills and comfort interacting with customers and cross-functional teams.

Preferred:

  • IFPS certification (e.g., Certified Fluid Power Specialist or Engineer).
  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Background working with custom machine builders or system integrators.
