Wisconsin Public Service, subsidiaries of WEC Energy Group, are seeking an Electrical Engineer in our Green Bay, Wisconsin and Wausau, Wisconsin locations.

This position is part of a job family (Associate Engineer, Engineer, and Senior Engineer) where experience will be the determining factor.

Job Summary

The Electric Distribution Planning Engineer is responsible for electric distribution system load forecasting, capacity planning, project development, work plan prioritization, and lifecycle asset replacement programs that ensure safe, reliable, cost-effective, and responsive delivery of electric service to customers.

Job Responsibilities
  • Apply sound and diversified knowledge of power distribution engineering principles and practices as well as make independent decisions concerning an assigned planning area.
  • Collaborate with Electric Operations supervisors and designers, area reliability and customer service managers, system operations center supervisors and dispatch personnel, substation construction and maintenance supervisors, and field construction work groups.
  • Perform on-call responsibilities as part of an on-call rotation.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Valid driver's license and meet the company's requirements for driving
  • Candidates must be willing to travel to other company locations and be willing to be called in during off hours if a problem arises

This position requires unescorted access to certain critical cyber assets which would require applicants to satisfy all Company and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard 004 security requirements, which includes a background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of the design and function of the electric distribution system and power distribution equipment.
  • Professional engineering license in the state of Wisconsin.

Pay Range Minimum : $66,898.00

Pay Range Maximum : $132,708.94

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
