Job Description


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the mechanical design and development of systems for nuclear modular reactors, covering the full system design including reactor pressure vessels, cooling systems, steam generators, piping, HVAC, and other critical mechanical components.
  • Oversee the design lifecycle from concept through to detailed design, ensuring all mechanical systems meet regulatory requirements, nuclear safety standards, and project specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including electrical, instrumentation, control, and structural engineers, to ensure an integrated and cohesive design approach across the entire reactor system.
  • Manage, mentor, and provide technical leadership to a team of mechanical engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Ensure mechanical systems are designed for safety, reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, while minimizing environmental impact and adhering to sustainability goals.
  • Review and approve mechanical engineering designs, calculations, and specifications, ensuring compliance with industry codes, nuclear safety standards (e.g., ASME, ASCE, IEC, etc.), and regulatory requirements (e.g., IAEA, NRC).
  • Lead the resolution of complex mechanical engineering challenges and design issues, including conducting risk assessments, failure mode analysis, and root cause investigations.
  • Provide technical oversight during the construction, installation, testing, and commissioning phases, ensuring mechanical systems are installed and operate in accordance with the design.
  • Support the development of project schedules, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery of mechanical design activities.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of design processes, tools, and methodologies for mechanical engineering design in nuclear reactor projects.
  • Stay current with developments in nuclear technology, mechanical design innovations, and industry standards to ensure the application of best practices.


Pay Details: $130,000.00 to $190,000.00 per year
