Summary/Objective

As a critical element of the DataPath engineering team, the Engineering Project Manager (EPM) will contribute to and manage engineering efforts on assigned programs. The EPM will plan and schedule a development program, manage a matrixed team (as required), keeping the team on plan. The EPM will communicate with senior management as well as communicate details to team members in a clear manner and lead multi-functional development programs within cost and schedule. An ideal candidate will have a strong Satellite Communications technical background with emphasis in all phases of development including system requirements definition and allocation, design trade studies, preliminary design, detailed design, requirements verification, system testing, qualification testing and final handoff or a production configuration.

Job Responsibilities

  • Successfully execute assigned projects through individual efforts and managing team contributions IAW DataPath processes and policies, government regulations, and contract requirements.

  • Develop and maintain project schedule with applicable internal and external milestones, including any required deliverables and key dates.

  • Develop and maintain project budget providing periodic updates including variance analysis and development of estimates to complete.

  • Create and maintain project plans, action logs, issue logs, and other project documents.

  • Provide regular project updates to project sponsors and stakeholders.

  • Coordinate project meetings and maintain project meeting minutes.

  • Assign and monitor project tasks for both internal and external resources.

  • Control project scope with an effective change process.

  • Identify and manage project risks.

  • Support requirements allocations, test, and verification.

  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.

  • Protects company IP and technical data from unauthorized disclosure; complies with ITAR regulations.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Ability to manage a team of individuals matrixed to specific projects.

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.

Travel

  • Travel may be required, up to 10%.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate engineering discipline or 10+ years of experience designing, operating, or maintaining relocatable Satellite Ground Stations

  • Experience managing SatCom system programs.

  • Supervisory, project lead or management experience a plus

  • PMP Certification a plus.

  • Defense & Aerospace experience preferred.

  • Satellite Terminal background a plus.

  • Experience using Windchill

  • Experience with software requirements and verification.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint).

  • Detailed knowledge of DataPath portables product lines
