Job Description We are seeking a transportation engineer with 2-5 years of experience to support projects for the Maryland State Highway Administration. The role involves preliminary and final engineering and design reviews, reviewing and preparing engineering-related calculations, developing drawings, plans, and visual aids, and reviewing and developing cost estimates. The engineer will also review and prepare technical reports and memos, work on zone and traffic control plan sets, and conduct office research, fieldwork, data collection, and data analysis. Responsibilities
- Conduct preliminary and final engineering and design reviews.
- Review and prepare engineering-related calculations.
- Develop drawings, plans, and visual aids.
- Review and develop cost estimates.
- Prepare technical reports and memos.
- Work on zone and traffic control plan sets.
- Conduct office research, fieldwork, data collection, and data analysis.
- Proficiency in MicroStation is required.
- Civil engineering, traffic engineering, roadway design expertise.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in transportation, highway engineering, or traffic engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in transportation engineering.
- P.E. or P.T.O.E. preferred; E.I.T. at minimum.
- Experience in highway design, traffic studies, and analysis.
- Experience with temporary signal work and signage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, ProjectWise.
