Applications are now being accepted for the position of Assistant Civil Engineer or Civil Engineer in the Safety Engineering Division at the Ada County Highway District in the Boise, Idaho area. This is a full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $69,472 - $89,440 per year, DOQ.

Primary Responsibilities:
· The Civil Engineer/Assistant Civil Engineer will perform professional engineering work in roadway civil and urban hydrology/hydraulics for stormwater & irrigation.
· Perform CAD design for Civil Engineering projects; prepare project specifications and cost estimates for projects, perform investigations, prioritize, and develop solutions to drainage and irrigation problems affecting District roadways.
· The successful candidate will be expected to work with a variety of internal and external District customers and provide professional responses to public comments, complaints, and referrals.
Qualifications:
· Must have considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of the roadway civil and hydraulic engineering field, and urban drainage system design. Must have experience with CAD (AutoCAD preferred) design, and engineering computer software; and gravity irrigation systems and their operation.
· Must have a valid Idaho drivers license.
· Civil Engineer: Must possess an Idaho Professional Engineering (PE) license. Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required.
· Assistant Civil Engineer: Must possess EIT/EI Certification and must obtain an Idaho Professional Engineering (PE) license within two years. Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering and professional level engineering experience. OR Any combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities are acceptable.
