Quality Engineering Technician

The Quality Engineering Technician is responsible for conducting detailed inspections of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), Lithium-Ion Battery Cabinets, and other AC Power products throughout the manufacturing process. This role ensures all AC power-related components meet design specifications, electrical codes, and internal quality standards before entering the Testing phase. The technician plays a pivotal role in identifying defects, verifying safety compliance, and supporting root-cause analysis for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Inspect assembled UPS units and subcomponents such as inverters, rectifiers, transformers, and bypass switches for electrical and mechanical conformity.
• Review blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams against physical builds.
• Conduct inspections of AC power products, including wiring, grounding, and busing against workmanship standards.
• Evaluate proper torquing, cable routing, labeling, and hardware stack ups in accordance with layout diagrams.
• Document all findings and discrepancies in quality records and inspection checklists.
• Tag nonconforming units and coordinate with production and engineering to resolve issues.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for recurring defects or process deviations.
• Collaborate with production line leads and assemblers to promote build quality and safety practices.
• Consult Oracle/PD Cloud or the current operating system for part revision numbers, location and availability of parts, quantity of parts, and engineering changes.

• 3-5 years of Quality Technician experience.
• Inspection, Engineering, Troubleshooting, Quality engineering, Quality control, Quality assurance.
• Electronics and Mechanical knowledge.
• Strong understanding of AC power systems and UPS design principles.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Basic computer proficiency in MS Office, Oracle EBS, Outlook, PowerPoint, CAD.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with production, quality, and engineering teams.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards, specifically with Product Planning and Verification Clauses.

• Experienced in lean manufacturing concepts, continuous improvement, and/or Six Sigma methods.
• Familiarity with torque wrenches, multi-meters, and calibers.

The position is set in a manufacturing work environment. It offers a long-term contract with the potential to transition to a permanent role after nine months.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52.00 - $52.00/hr.
