Description
Myomo is seeking a detailed and well-organized Engineering Technician responsible for capturing, reporting, and organizing information from prototype builds, tests and investigations. This role requires strong hands-on capabilities, along with experience in building mechanical and electrical prototypes, designing experiments, and executing tests.
The ideal candidate should possess strong electromechanical aptitude, developed problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and with others. Additionally, the Engineering Technician should be prepared to assist with other tasks on an ad hoc basis as appropriate.
How you'll drive impact:
Technical Competency:
- Assemble prototype devices, subassemblies and test fixtures, investigating design defects and formally documenting results.
- Write test protocols and perform tests, formally documenting results.
- Provide regular updates to project management regarding status and progress around assembly work, tests, and documentation.
- Generate design specifications in the form of drawings and process specifications as appropriate.
Attention to Detail:
- Precision in assemblies and subassemblies, conducting tests, and adhering to procedures.
Time Management & Documentation:
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Maintain detailed records of activities using requested software and/or MS Office tools.
Compliance:
- Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, (SOPs) ensuring that all equipment complies with safety regulations.
What you'll bring:
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience, along with 1+ years' experience with prototyping and fabrication methods for electromechanical products.
- Demonstrated ability to read and follow assembly and test procedures, as well as competency with power tools.
- Diagnostic and complex issue resolution skills pertaining to equipment.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing; ability to summarize and document details and test results promptly and accurately.
