Seeking a Mechanical Engineer to perform structural and thermal analysis, mechanical design, and system packaging for Navy shipboard-based power distribution equipment.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 5+ years of experience, or

  • Masters degree with 3+ years of experience, or

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree

  • Experience in mechanical engineering design and analysis

  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or AutoCAD

  • Familiarity with military and industry specifications for design, testing, and materials

  • Experience with environmental qualification testing (Commercial/Navy/Military specs)

  • Knowledge of low/medium-voltage or high-power electrical equipment

  • Proficiency in ANSYS Workbench or equivalent structural analysis software

  • Background in shock and vibration mitigation design for electrical enclosures

  • Familiarity with additive manufacturing materials and techniques

  • Strong technical documentation and report writing capabilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review specifications to determine structural, thermal, and safety requirements

  • Perform thermal and structural analysis on mechanical designs

  • Design mechanical systems and components for shipboard power distribution panels

  • Prepare 2D and 3D design documentation to meet contract and production requirements

  • Estimate material and labor costs for proposals

  • Coordinate and lead design efforts across engineering teams

  • Support qualification testing, manufacturing, troubleshooting, and product improvements

  • Process and manage design changes using PLM systems

  • Review and approve technical documentation, ensuring completeness and accuracy

  • Interface with customers, vendors, and production teams to refine requirements and solutions

  • Ensure adherence to budget and schedule on assigned projects



Pay Details: $48.00 to $52.00 per hour
