Electrical Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) team. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in designing, managing, and overseeing electrical systems for commercial, industrial, or institutional building projects. This role requires expertise in delivering high-quality electrical engineering solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support project success.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for MEP projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
• Produce detailed electrical drawings, specifications, and calculations using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or other BIM tools.
• Perform load calculations, short-circuit analysis, and coordination studies to ensure safe and efficient system performance.
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems into overall building designs.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to verify compliance with design specifications, codes, and standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE).
• Prepare and review technical reports, cost estimates, and project schedules.
• Ensure projects meet energy efficiency goals, incorporating sustainable design practices where applicable.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and coordinate with contractors during construction phases.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulations to maintain best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.
• 5-10 years of experience in electrical engineering within the MEP sector.
• Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE).
• Experience with energy modeling and sustainable design practices is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities to work effectively with clients, contractors, and project teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows.
• Experience with renewable energy systems, such as solar or wind integration.
• Knowledge of commissioning and testing procedures for electrical systems.
• Understanding of MEP coordination and clash detection processes.
