A large retail client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Supply Chain Senior Project Manager to join their dynamic Distribution Center Operations team in Pleasanton, CA. They will lead and manage projects in our distribution center operations, ensuring smooth execution, on-time delivery, and optimization of our logistics and material handling systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in distribution center operations and warehoues management systems including the procurement and implementation of material handling systems and devices.

-Lead and oversee large-scale distribution center projects from concept through implementation, ensuring all milestones are met on time and within budget.

-Plan and execute improvements and upgrades to material handling systems, including conveyor systems, automated storage/retrieval systems (AS/RS), and sorting equipment.

-Manage the procurement process for devices and equipment required in distribution operations. Oversee supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and ensure timely delivery and integration of new technology.

-Work closely with operations, engineering, IT, and other teams to ensure smooth implementation and integration of project elements.

-Proactively identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize any impact on project timelines, quality, and costs.

-Manage project budgets, track project spending, and ensure cost-effective solutions are implemented throughout the project lifecycle.

-Work closely with external vendors and suppliers to manage project timelines, ensure product quality, and resolve any potential issues.

-Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, timelines, resource allocation, and status reports.

Skills and Requirements

-7 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years specifically in distribution center operations.

-Strong experience with material handling systems such as conveyor systems, sortation equipment, voice detection accessories and automated systems (AS/RS).

-Experience with hand handheld devices

-Proven experience managing device procurement for operational needs within distribution centers including scanners, handheld devices, and printers

-Strong understanding of distribution center operations, warehouse management systems (WMS), and related technologies.

-Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization and external partners.

-Proven ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. -Experience with Honeywell, Zebra, Intermec devices

-Prior experience in a large-scale distribution center or fulfillment center.

-Advanced knowledge of warehouse management software (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

-Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies. null
