Position Summary

This position is responsible for understanding and interpreting project technical specifications to ensure compliance and quality in support of a high complexity, high volume Electric Power project. This role involves close collaboration with suppliers to guarantee that all products and services meet the specified requirements. Additionally, the Project Manager supports internal execution teams by providing technical information and guidance to ensure successful installation and commissioning of equipment. The position may require overtime and weekends.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

  • Understand and interpret project and product technical specifications to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Collaborate closely with suppliers to guarantee that all products and services meet specified requirements.
  • Support internal execution teams by providing technical information and guidance for successful installation and commissioning of equipment.
  • Assist in the bidding process of complex energy projects from initial estimation through the commissioning of equipment.
  • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure products meet specified standards and customer expectations.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify compliance with quality standards and develop quality control documentation and reports.
  • Monitor and analyze product performance data to identify areas for improvement and lead initiatives to enhance product quality and reliability.
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies for existing work plans
  • Concurrent multi-site, multi-state responsibility

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • May be responsible for directing the work of front-line team members.

Position Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, electrical or mechanical engineering technology, or equivalent years of experience (5+ years).
  • Advanced computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office software, AutoCAD, and Caterpillar programs.

Preferred:

  • 8+ years of experience in application and installation of complex standby and prime electric power systems.
  • Master's Degree in a related field.
  • 10+ years or more of experience in a related field with Heavy Equipment Manufacturer - Dealership, Caterpillar.

  • Expert knowledge of critical CAT applications: SIS, SOS, ET, Remote Services, Vision Link, SIMSi, TMI, Oak Adaptive, PSCRM, and Dealer DSN.

  • Excellent communication, organization, judgment, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving.
  • Strong ability to build relationships effectively by phone.
  • Ability to pursue opportunities with relentless persistence.
  • Excellent project management skills with a strong ability to manage change and conflict.
  • Mastery of the product and a good knowledge of the product market.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to meet and/or exceed customer expectations.
  • Strong leadership skills, including creative thinking, decision-making, and goal-setting skills.
  • Expertise in quality assurance processes and methodologies.
  • Ability to conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Proficiency in analyzing product performance data and identifying areas for improvement.

Other Requirements of Position

  • Works under limited supervision. Independently determines the approach to take and the methods to use. Interprets policy in terms of objectives. Informs manager of unusual situations with far reaching implications.
  • Major responsibilities typically require creativity and latitude. Employee typically operates with specific objectives but often few written or unwritten procedures as guidelines. Some policies or precedents for action exist.
  • If an error is made while in this position, it will require moderate effort to identify the error and can create a moderate impact on the company financially
