Position Overview:
This position leads EMI and ESD design control initiatives for both new and existing low-power, battery-operated medical devices. The role involves strategic ownership of EMI/ESD design, testing, development of automated test benches, and participation in PCB/PCBA quality improvement activities. As a senior technical contributor, this individual collaborates cross-functionally and reports directly to the Sr Manager of Electrical Engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary lead expert for EMI and ESD design and verification across product lifecycle
- Experience in EMI/EMC analysis and modeling, product qualification tests and test techniques, and product compliance
- Design and implement automated EMI/ESD test benches and testing protocols
- Ensure compliance with relevant EMC standards and FDA guidelines
- Conduct PCB/PCBA quality investigations and drive corrective actions
- Collaborate with internal and external teams (mechanical, software, manufacturing, vendors) to integrate EMI/ESD requirements into product design
- Participate in risk management activities related to EMI/ESD performance and safety
- Lead EMI/ESD-related design reviews and documentation
- Define and execute test matrix aligned with design input requirements and verification strategy
- Support design changes through components qualification and change control processes
- Mentor junior engineers in EMI/ESD best practices and standards
Education and Experience:
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline and minimum of 7 years experience in electrical engineering related fields (medical device field is preferred) and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in device-level EMI/EMC/ESD design, test and analysis.
- Solid expertise in all aspects of PCB/PCBA design and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of EMI simulation tools like Ansys HFSS, CST or similar
- Demonstrated working knowledge of tools and instruments utilized in electrical engineering field.
- Experience working with external compliance labs and managing external service providers.
- Familiarity with FDA guidelines on design and manufacturing of the medical devices is a plus.

- Knowledge of low power battery operating embedded system.
- Knowledge of PCB/PCBA quality control, including IPC standards.
- Familiarity with the RF design and BLE protocol is a plus.
- Ability to use laboratory equipment for electronics measurement.
- Knowledge of electrical safety and EMC standards for medical devices is a plus.
- Knowledge of FDA design control guidelines is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
This position may require business travel.

Additional Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000.00 - $198,000.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
