A Box RE/Lead is the primary owner for technical execution and hardware performance of the pertinent hardware item including: analog circuit performance, digital circuit performance, Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) performance, board-to-board interactions, chassis design, assembly / test, end-item performance. As a Box RE/Lead you will review and approve of all technical decisions within the assembly and any decision that impacts the buy off of the technical details and/or requirements. It is expected that you will have adequate knowledge of board designs to provide Printed Wiring Assembly (PWA) and FPGA level technical support and be able to engage Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) as needed.

What Youll Do:
- Understand system level and box requirements.
- Flow down requirements to the PWAs, FPGAs, and/or SW within the box assembly.
- Create the box architecture and electrical design.
- Guide and oversee PWA and FPGA designs and interdependencies.
- Facilitate Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical (EEE) part choices and replacements.
- Ensure analyses are accurate and adequate to buy off requirements.
- Oversee box integration and support development of box test plans.
- Support and review Specific Test Equipment (STE) design for PWAs and box.
- Verify test plan and procedures are accurate and adequate to buy off requirements.
- Lead or support Hardware Anomaly Report (HAR) and Test Anomaly Report (TAR) debug and determination of root cause and corrective actions.
- Provide Requirements Verification Matrix (RVM) and all other delivery documentation.
- Provide technical mentoring to junior designers within assembly.
- Review the schedule and forecast the technical scope, then provide input to the project engineer about the box execution plan.
- Proactively identify schedule and technical risks and bring them to the programs attention.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
- May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
- May access other facilities in various weather conditions.
- BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 10 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Masters Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Experience with electronic circuit design, electronic systems, FPGAs, and software.
- Hands on experience with lab power supplies, oscilloscopes, function generators, and logic analyzers is required.
- Good communication skills, as well as solid presentation skills.
A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills- Knowledge of space radiation effects or rad-hard electronics design is a plus.
- Space or military design experience highly desired but not required.
- Design of control electronics and precision instrumentation experience is preferred.
- Experience with Schematic capture tools Mentor/Siemens, OrCad, Altium is preferred.
- Experience with power systems, detector low noise analog electronics or mixed signal design a plus.
- Experience designing mixed signal analog/digital/FPGA electronics is preferred.
- Experience with Matlab, PSPICE/LTSPICE, Mathcad is preferred.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $146670 - $249330

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
