Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will provide shop support for NPIs, Pilot, and Validation testing. Your role will involve production and test support in both electrical and mechanical domains, including introducing ICAs and PCAs to protect RTS, resolving quality issues, and supporting quality initiatives. You will collaborate with suppliers, find alternative parts, validate new parts, and ensure compliance with UL, ULC, and CSA standards. The position involves researching and investigating the design, functionality, and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanical devices.
- Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine time and cost feasibility.
- Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operations and make recommendations to the maintenance crew.
- Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment, or software.
- Provide shop support and troubleshooting for mechanical and electrical systems.
- Collaborate with suppliers and validate new parts.
- Support compliance initiatives and quality audits.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a 2-year degree with 7 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and reports.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using Creo, Cat ET, and PLEX.
- Understanding of UL, CSA, NFPA, and NEC requirements.
- Experience in shop support, troubleshooting, and mechanical design.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Seguin System and Process Knowledge.
- Genset product knowledge.
- Emphasis on initiative and self-starting tasks.
Work Environment
The position is based in Seguin, TX, primarily focused on shop support and updating current product designs. You will work on the PG line, supporting NPIs and NSIs, along with other MCR activities. The role involves interaction with a global team, including engineering and other cross-functional teams, in both office and shop floor settings during general shift hours.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
