Job Description
POSITION: Sr Mechanical Design Engineer
LOCATION: Chatsworth, CA
SHIFT: Monday - Thursday (Day Shift: 7:00 am - 5:30 pm)
Requirements
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Design and develop mechanical systems, keeping in mind the budget and timelines
To generate 3D models of enclosures and mechanical packaging and Assembly drawings in SolidWorks
To generate conceptual design, PCB board design, layout and packaging in SolidWorks
Product-focused creative thinking and strong attention to detail design
Developing and building prototypes to test their function
Analyzing and testing existing products to identify areas for improvement
Work directly with all departments to resolve manufacturing issues
Must have working knowledge of mold making, dies, tooling, assembly, manufacturing fixtures and processes
Experience in fiberglass and foaming a plus (parts and assemblies are fabricated from foam, fiberglass, castings, resins and aluminum)
Some injection molding experience
Produce/support technical and engineering documents (Spec. Router, ECO, ECR)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Science Degree with an emphasis in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of engineering experience as related to the above duties
3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment as a process owner (design, process, equipment, documentation)
Proficiency in common design software, such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
Good knowledge of FEA analyses for thermal, stress and vibration analysis using simulation tools and SW
Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, drawings and quality specifications
Ability to read and understand basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance
Aerospace manufacturing company experience in assisting all phases of manufacturing process a plus
Comfortable and able to work well as part of an integrated team including skilled technicians, engineering peers, and principal level engineers
Must exhibit good judgment, ingenuity, and personal as well as professional integrity
Must possess good written and verbal communication skills

Pay Range
$145,000.00 - $170,000.00 / year
