Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

• Develops and tests on a variety of mechanical assignments that constitute a portion of a larger project.
• Tests documentation which describes the specific mechanical functionality.
• Runs tests designed by more experienced engineers.
• Reviews test results and perform root cause analyses to identify problems.
• Provides recommendations and implements solutions to complex issues. Insures compliance with quality process and standards.
• Makes changes to or upgrades existing mechanical designs. Enhances and improves existing technologies to apply to new solutions.
• Makes and implements recommendations to immediate team to enhance performance and improve productivity.
• Receives general instructions on routine work, new projects or assignments.
• Builds productive working relationships internally and externally.
• Primary intra-organizational with occasional inter-organizational and external customer contacts on routine matters.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

MUST HAVE 1: Experience in ProE/Creo design and drafting applied to industrial and consumer electronics or opto-electronic products.

MUST HAVE 2: Solidworks experience

MUST HAVE 3: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of product design experience in Optoelectronic industrial electronic product industries.

MUST HAVE 4: Experience in CNC Machining, injection molded plastic, die cast, and sheet metal part/assembly design

NICE TO HAVE 1: Experience with 3D printing

NICE TO HAVE 2: Experience with GD&T and DFM

NICE TO HAVE 3: Experience working with ODM (Original Design Manufacturing), and JDM (Joint Duty Manufacturing)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
