We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Process Engineer to join our Networks Planning and Engineering team in Thomastown VIC, Eagle Farm QLD or Kidman Park SA, fulltime on a fixed term 2-year contract.

Reporting to the Team Lead for Engineering Major Projects, you will provide engineering support to Capital Projects including Process Design Calculations, P&ID development, data sheet & specification development, process simulation, risk assessment, HAZOP and LOPA technical input.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare process-engineering design and perform reviews of outsourced projects including sign off of acceptance of process design
  • Apply industry and company standards for quality and engineering, including ISO 14224
  • Integrate customer and regulatory standards and requirements
  • Gather input and feedback from key customers to develop and continuously improve tools, processes and standards
  • Maintain collaborative and productive working relationships with peers and customers

Your Background

  • Working knowledge of Environmental and Health and Safety legislative requirements
  • Experience in a hydrocarbons or gas industry operations environment (Preferred)
  • Well-developed communication and influencing skills and the ability to be an effective member of a multi-disciplinary project team
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques and tools (e.g. Hazop, Bow Ties, LOPA)
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical/Process Engineering or related field, ideally leading to full membership of the Institution of Engineers, Australia (Preferred) or equivalent, as well as Chartered Professional Engineer or working towards CPEng and/or Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ)
  • Quality experience in process and/or project engineering/chemical engineering or related field

Networks manages and operates local distribution networks and transmission pipelines that deliver gas to around 1.4 million households and businesses across Australia.

This is an exciting time for the Networks team, we are growing and expanding with many new projects, including 2032 Olympics. Also, we have a strong culture of continuous improvement and working towards Net Zero with the introduction of renewable green gas into the Gas Networks.
