A Mechanical Engineer is needed for a company that transports, distributes and generates energy, with diversified assets that include a balance between crude oil and natural gas in Duluth, MN or Houston, TX areas. This role requires an engineer to oversee the design of Liquids Pump station facilities, manage third-party engineering firms, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant standards by effectively communicating with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

responsibilities:
  • Ensure pump station facilities are designed according to all regulations, codes, and corporate standards.

  • Define the scope, schedule, and budget for design and materials.

  • Manage third-party engineering firms to ensure they deliver on design deliverables within budget and schedule.

  • Review and approve design deliverables, such as drawings, reports, and material lists.

  • Participate in design review meetings with key stakeholders to discuss scope, design, performance, and constructability.

  • Review vendor material quotes, provide technical evaluations, and recommend selections.

  • Incorporate lessons learned from past projects into future designs.

  • Actively identify and communicate new lessons learned and quality incidents.

  • Support other departmental initiatives as needed.

  • Effective communication of technical issues to both technical and non-technical staff.
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or a related Engineering field.

  • At least 4 years of industry experience.
