Engineering Technician

An Engineering Technician is needed for a leading global engineering, consulting and construction company in the Overland Park, KS area. This senior-level engineering technician position requires a minimum of 3-5 years of experience with AutoCAD Electrical (ACADE) with Substation Design Suite (SDS) and mandatory substation industry experience to independently perform advanced drafting functions, ensure quality and compliance, and provide technical guidance to other team members.

responsibilities:

• Perform advanced functions using Autodesk Inventor with SDS (Substation Design Suite) to create and modify project deliverables with minimal supervision.
  
  
• Apply knowledge of engineering standards, quality programs, and document control procedures.
  
  
• Actively participate in continuous improvement and change management efforts.
  
  
• Develop and improve methods for creating deliverables and may handle less complex design concepts.
  
  
• Perform computations for material quantities and estimates.
  
  
• Coordinate with other teams to avoid project errors and support field activities.
  
  
• Provide technical guidance and work direction to other engineering professionals.

Skills: The ability to work independently, make judgments on deliverables, and proactively seek and share knowledge.

Edcuation and Experience:

• A Diploma, Certificate, or Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design is preferred.
  
  
• Must have 3-5 years of experience using Autodesk Inventor with SDS specifically within the substation industry.
