Position Overview

We are seeking an Engineering Technician (Civil Design Water & Utilities) to support infrastructure projects across the Southeast. This role will focus on producing high-quality civil design deliverables, including site grading, drainage, and utility plans, with an emphasis on water and wastewater systems. The position requires strong technical drafting abilities and experience with Autodesk Civil 3D (pipe networks, grading, plan and profile creation). Familiarity with Bentley MicroStation is a plus.

The selected candidate will contribute to water, wastewater, and pipeline projects, playing a key role in developing accurate, code-compliant designs and collaborating across disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply civil engineering design standards and drafting practices to produce accurate drawings and models.

  • Prepare grading, drainage, and utility layouts using Civil 3D, including pressure and gravity pipe networks.

  • Review design inputs to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project requirements.

  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to coordinate deliverables across multiple teams.

  • Support project closeout activities, including preparation of record drawings and documentation.

  • Stay current with design tools, industry trends, and technology to improve quality and efficiency.

  • Provide guidance or mentorship to junior team members as needed.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D (pipe/pressure networks, grading surfaces, plan & profile production).

  • Minimum 3 years of related civil drafting/design experience.

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Bluebeam .

  • Understanding of engineering design principles, drafting standards, and quality control practices.

  • Familiarity with water/wastewater infrastructure or pipeline design preferred.

Education
  • Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Design Technology, or a related field preferred.

  • Equivalent technical certificate and relevant industry experience considered.
