Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for an Electrical Engineer (Design) opportunity to support the Savannah River Site.
Work Location: Aiken, SC

Electrical Engineer (Design)-
Duties:
Engineering analysis, walkdowns, design development and generation of design output documents including but not limited to: Single Line Drawings; Electrical Equipment Lists; Control System Design; Electrical Equipment Specifications; Bulk Material Specifications; Circuit/Raceway/Wiring/Connection Design; Grounding; Heat Tracing; Fire Detection
Education/Yrs. Of Experience:
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of five (5) years of electrical design experience in the nuclear or process chemical industry.
Skills/Experience:
Perform engineering analyses, field walkdowns, and design development.
Proficiency in 480V power distribution system design, including circuit protection, analysis, and coordination.
Support procurement by preparing technical specifications for electrical equipment.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and participate in vendor/fabricator reviews.
Working knowledge of national electrical design codes and standards, including NEC, NQA-1, NFPA, NEMA, IEEE, IEC, and OSHA.
Prepare and deliver complete design documentation, including:
Single Line and Schematic Diagrams
Electrical Equipment Lists and Specifications
Bulk Material Specifications
Raceway, Wiring, and Connection Designs
Power Distribution and Control System Designs
Grounding and Heat Tracing Systems
Fire Detection and Alarm Systems
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in 2D MicroStation Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD).
Prior field experience at DOE or nuclear facilities.
Other Job Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Ability to walk-down systems in the field.
Ability to obtain and maintain site access and security requirements.
Individual at times will be required to travel off Site to interface with vendors, fabricators and other Engineering organizations.
