We are looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer with EPC experience in the metals and minerals industry to support electrical system design, layout, and commissioning of large-scale industrial facilities. The role requires collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver safe and efficient electrical solutions.
Electrical Engineer Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and develop power distribution, lighting, fire detection, and backup systems for industrial facilities.
- Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, cable schedules, and specifications.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure proper installation and compliance with design and safety standards.
- Support troubleshooting and issue resolution during fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, IEC, IEEE, OSHA, and local codes.
- Recommend and implement energy-efficient and sustainable electrical designs.
- Coordinate with civil, structural, and mechanical teams to integrate electrical systems into overall plant design.
Electrical Engineer Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 7+ years' experience in electrical engineering, including EPC projects in metals/mining/heavy industry.
- Proficiency in ETAP, AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, or equivalent software.
- Solid knowledge of electrical codes and industrial safety standards.
- Experience with 3-phase power distribution, substations, motors, and instrumentation systems.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Electrical Engineer Physical Demands
- Must be able to work weekends and long hours in a high-pressure working environment.
- Must be accessible at any time for emergencies.
- Requires frequent bending, stooping and lifting.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
