at TERRA Engineering, Ltd. in Chicago, Illinois, United States Job Description You Are: The ideal candidate ready to manage teams and activities on a range of projects, including complex, high-profile projects. Prepared to take ownership for overall client satisfaction, financial performance, and implementing Quality Control/Quality Assurance on projects. Responsible for marketing and business development activities and integral to the recruiting and staff development and review process. You Will: Lead a team in proposal development and interviews for a range of project sizes and types. Participate in business development efforts through understanding the local client market and participating in professional organizations. Review and execute agreements with the assistance of Department Managers. Establish project team and staffing requirements consistent with contractual obligations. Initiate projects with the accounting department and leads kick-off meeting(s) to convey scope, tasks, and budgets to multi-disciplinary team members. Lead project teams of varying disciplines and sizes with a focus on client communication and satisfaction. Manage project communication and deliverables to ensure the highest quality of documentation and professionalism. Delegate and, when required, assists the team with developing design criteria, performing analyses, and preparing design documents on complicated and large-scale projects. Lead client and stakeholder presentations with an emphasis on client advocacy, identifying and balancing client expectations with contractual obligations, project goals, and client satisfaction. Ensure each project meets Quality Control/Quality Assurance requirements. Approve and certify deliverables as the Engineer of Record. Monitor project financial performance and establishes/updates project staffing requirements to meet project's financial goals. Lead monthly invoicing of projects and tracking accounts' receivables. Provide leadership and management necessary to strategize successful project delivery, financial performance, and risk mitigation. Ensure the completion of close-out documentation process with contractors, clients, and agencies. Ensure the completion of internal close out process, including identifying lessons learned to be relayed to staff members. Author project descriptions and resumes to be incorporated into marketing materials. Develop and maintain trusted relationships with clients. Mentor staff and participates in performance reviews. Create and enforces the application of TERRA standards and guidelines. Lead the recruitment, interviewing, and candidate selection process. Provide input on the growth strategy of the department. You Have: B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering or related fields (Required) 10+ years of Civil Engineering and/or Site Development experience (Required) an Illinois Professional Engineering (PE) License (Required) Additional credentials preferred (i.e., CFM, CPESC, ENV SP, LEED AP, etc.) A membership and an active participant in local professional association events/educational sessions (Preferred) The ability to exercise good engineering and leadership judgment To view full details and how to apply, please login or create a Job Seeker account
