Job Title: Research Associate 2 - Engineer Department: Engineering | Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

Research Associate 2 - Engineer in the College of Engineering (COE), Center for Automotive Research (CAR) who conducts research in the areas of AI machine learning with applications to vehicle propulsion systems and vehicle safety; works with CAR faculty, staff, researchers, students and industry partners to develop and carryout research experiments and support sponsored research; extracts and analyzes experimental research results and prepares technical reports for sponsors reviews; prepares and presents papers/reports; writes, edits and/or approves progress and technical reports for sponsors; edits research results for publication and presentation; develops task lists, time lines, and budgets for research projects; assists in identifying, writing and preparing proposals to pursue new funding opportunities; attends relevant internal and external research meetings; supports teaching and training in automated vehicle technologies.

2 years of Experience in an academic research lab performing research on sponsored projects; ability to translate, adapt and apply academic and/or practical knowledge to the conduct of engineering research; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; excellent written and verbal communication skills

The target hiring range for this job profile is $70,100 - $91,600. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
