Lead and provide expert strategy to ensure compliance of the company's storm water pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) program. Manage implementation of site development standards (SDS) across the company's retail locations. Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies to mitigate risk, support sustainability efforts and protect the company's brand. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide technical knowledge and assist in task management on a wide variety of SWPPP and site construction tasks
  • Coordinate with project managers and other discipline leads to manage project deliverables ensuring quality control and adherence to company specifications
  • Oversee and monitor construction projects through centralized SWPPP process to resolve outstanding issues and non-compliance with local, state and federal laws
  • Correspond with vendors and ensure compliance follow-up with local agencies to ensure compliance with applicable programs
  • Oversee and manage SWPPP inspections for all active projects
  • Lead SWPPP pre-construction meetings including proper preparation of permits, explanation of field/inspection requirements and follow-up documentation of meeting notes
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in reviewing site construction documents for adherence to design standards, coordination with building design and constructability/phasing in the most economical methods
  • Develop strategic internal and external partnerships to construct and deliver quality site development agreements
  • Review site construction projects in person to verify projects are on task and adhering to proper compliance
  • Serve as an internal SME on SWPPP and SDS to construction, real estate and other internal and external customers
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provides feedback to direct reports

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in civil engineering or commercial site construction
  • Experience in SWPPP compliance work or SWPPP certifications (i.e. certified professional in erosion and sediment control (CPESC))
  • Experience with water quality management plans (WQMP)
  • Expert knowledge related to geotechnical and soil investigations
  • Experience with wetland and stream bank remediation
  • Experience with traffic studies and road improvement processes
  • Experience managing others
  • Bachelors degree in civil engineering or comparable education
  • 5+ years of proven experience working in site design, site construction or related areas with a professional engineers license or industry certification
  • Basic financial training to determine feasible means and methods to meet government regulations
  • Intermediate software skills including Microsoft Office and web-based management systems (i.e. Site Folio)
  • Ability to read and understand technical construction documents and government permits
  • Extensive SME knowledge of SWPPP and SDS
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an industry certification (i.e. professional engineers license)
  • Ability to travel independently (30-50%)
