Electrical Engineer

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our civil engineering team, supporting infrastructure projects such as land development, transportation systems, utilities, and public facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience designing and implementing electrical systems within civil environments, including lighting, power distribution, and utility coordination.

This role requires strong collaboration with civil engineers, surveyors, planners, and construction teams to ensure electrical components are seamlessly integrated into broader infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical systems for civil infrastructure projects (e.g., street lighting, traffic signals, utility coordination, site power).
  • Prepare electrical plans, specifications, and cost estimates for public and private sector projects.
  • Collaborate with civil and structural engineers to ensure electrical designs align with site layouts and construction plans.
  • Conduct load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and system sizing for power distribution.
  • Coordinate with utility providers for service connections, upgrades, and relocations.
  • Support permitting and compliance with local, state, and federal codes (NEC, NESC, Title 24, etc.).
  • Assist in construction administration, including RFIs, submittal reviews, and site inspections.
  • Use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and electrical design software (e.g., Revit, SKM, ETAP) to produce accurate documentation.
  • Communicate with clients, municipalities, and contractors to ensure project goals are met.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (required).
  • PE license or EIT certification preferred (or ability to obtain).
  • 37 years of experience in electrical design within civil infrastructure or land development.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and electrical modeling software.
  • Strong understanding of NEC, NESC, and local building codes.
  • Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience:
  • Street and area lighting design
  • Traffic signal systems
  • Utility coordination for subdivisions or commercial developments
  • Public works projects (e.g., parks, schools, municipal buildings)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $70.00/hr.
