To help achieve these efforts, Stratolaunch is seeking an Electrical, Avionics Drafter level I, II, or Sr to support design, integration, testing, and maintenance of one of our carrier or hypersonic vehicles electrical and avionics systems; as an Avionics Design Engineer you will be responsible for the following: Integrate Avionics and Electrical components into aircraft including gathering requirements, generating wiring diagrams, supporting shop personnel performing the work, and testing the completed systems. Develop and maintain system and sub-system drawing packages. Define system architecture for Avionics and Electrical systems. Develop engineering documentation for Avionics and Electrical systems including Drawing Trees, Block Diagrams, Interface Control Documents (ICD), and Wiring Diagrams Define the Bill of Material (BOM) for electrical drawings. Partner with harness engineers to determine harness routing requirements. Define and update design rules and standards as required. Incorporate redlines from the engineering design team and hanging redlines from completed manufacturing work Support design validation testing and resolve design related failures. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, NX, CATIA, Mentor Graphics Liaison engineering support in the electrical shop to provide technicians with sufficient support to complete the task on hand, as required Breakdown engineering released documentation to better understand the intent Redline released engineering drawing documentation Ability to understand a broad range of technical data, interact with different disciplines involved in the design, purchasing, manufacturing, integration, and testing of our vehicle(s). Candidates must have an aerospace development background and relevant experience in aerospace systems integration. Required Qualifications: Knowledge of, and experience working with, one or more of these disciplines: electrical engineering, avionics, experimental aircraft and/or launch vehicle integration Experience with Aerospace production documentation (drawings and work orders) Experience with PDM systems, Engineering control and revision control release processes Familiarity with common aerospace hardware such as connectors, relays, and wire types Facilitation skills and ability to communicate technical challenges and guidance to varied audiences to gain support or resolve concerns Ability to work on your own initiative and prioritize tasking to fit within the business goals Complex aerospace system development Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities Preferred Qualifications: Security clearance Experience integrating launch vehicle or aircraft electrical power systems Direct hands-on experience with aircraft electrical system installation and best practices Required Skills: Siemens Capital/Mentor Graphics Familiarity with 3D CAD MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Experience as a CAD parts librarian (Preferred: Mentor Graphics) Preferred Skills: 3D CAD modeling experience - NX, CATIA, or Solidworks Familiarity with configuration management systems - Jira (preferred) EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Level I ($83,000-$120,500): Bachelor's degree or higher from accredited institution and 0-2 years of engineering experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience Level II ($101-000-$146,500): Bachelor's degree or higher from accredited institution and 2-5 years of engineering experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience Sr Level ($120,500-158,000): Bachelor's degree or higher from accredited institution and 5-10 years of engineering experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience Special remarks regarding work environment, if applicable Position on-site based in Mojave, CA Travel, as needed, to support the department.
