Forensic Mechanical Engineer

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead forensic investigations involving mechanical failures and product performance

  • Perform root cause analyses using accepted scientific and engineering methodologies

  • Prepare clear, persuasive, and defensible expert reports

  • Provide deposition and trial testimony

  • Consult with attorneys on technical issues and case strategy

  • Review and rebut opposing expert opinions

  • Mentor and elevate junior engineers

Required Credentials & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MS or PhD preferred)

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

  • Minimum of 5 deposition testimonies as an expert witness

  • At least 1 trial testimony as a testifying expert

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly and persuasively

  • High ethical standards and comfort working under legal scrutiny
