Job Summary:

This position develops and implements cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls; and coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products. Will provide services in mechanical, industrial and manufacturing engineering and design for new and existing customers. Responsible for the entire project cycle of products to include design, development, estimating costs and project completion. Additional responsibilities will include manufacturing process improvements, cost reductions, and fixturing.

Primary Job Duties:

Wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Prepares engineering analysis of projects to include design and layout, calculation, cycle costs and equipment selection.

Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment, conferring with equipment vendors.

Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements and equipment layout.

Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing production schedules; stimulating future requirements.

Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.

Prepares and interprets blueprints, schematic drawings, layouts and other visual aids.

Performs mechanical engineering duties for the design, fabrication and painting processes.

Carries out process improvement, problem resolution, project management and employee training.

j. Manages projects and time frames ensuring timely turnaround on engineering projects.

k. Assists the VP Operations in improving a system of production inventory control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control and training.

l. Meets with current and prospective customers to review designs, quotes, end use, and ensure customer specifications are met.

m. Identifies, reviews, and implements process improvement ideas to increase manufacturing efficiencies and reduce costs.

Job Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of advanced math skills, ability to understand abstract principles behind math and physics.

Working knowledge of Solid Works.

Strong understanding of product structures including bills of material and routings.

Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.

Ideally 5+ years of engineering experience.

May be asked to work a flexible schedule if traveling to customer sites for meetings.

Results oriented / self-starter (independent)

Experience with handling multiple complex projects simultaneously

Ability to work in a team environment

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Essential Working Conditions

Working conditions are normal for production environment.

Work may require occasional travel between plants.

Work may require evening/weekend work depending on customer demands.
