Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full-time highly experienced Production Line Specialist. In this role, you will lead the development of Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) from low rate prototype tooling to the development of automated tooling capable of full rate production. You will partner closely with mechanical, electrical, facility and manufacturing engineers as well as program managers, and quality teams to create a strategic MGSE roadmap that will support building and assembling the high-rate production line. The candidate will then support through initial development to full-rate production and all follow on support. You will capture lessons learned from prior programs to drive innovative and modular production solutions. You will participate in issue resolution, and develop solutions to technical problems of varying complexity while assuring sound technical content and timely closure. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of 3-D modeling design. Must be a US Citizen; This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Experience developing a production line for low volume of machined metallic components
Ability to understand and interpret manufacturing drawings
Professional experience using a 3D CAD system (Creo, NX SolidWorks, etc.)
Experience with machine tool design, tool modification, or other mechanical design elements
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance, US Citizenship required Understanding of manufacturing processes like machining, bonding, and test.
Experience throughout engineering lifecycle (system definition, design, build, test and operational deployment)
Experience in relatable tooling and fixture design of a product line
Experience in determining efficiencies, optimizations utilizing factory product and/or process data
Experience working in cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues
Experience with jigs and work holding fixtures
Experience with Creo modeling
