Project Engineer III

The Project Engineer III is responsible for managing all aspects of project assignments using the Product Development Process (PDP) as a guide to achieve project objectives for New Product Development projects. Responsible for product maintenance, cost improvement, quality improvement and similar projects. Directs and coordinates a project team in the planning, organization, implementation, and completion of engineering project assignments.

This position will serve our Water Heating Division, located in Montgomery, AL.

  • Perform engineering design evaluations to ensure project feasibility and compliance with industry standards.
  • Work to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints.
  • Review industry policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance
  • Provide technical support throughout the engineering process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address challenges.
  • Design, implement, and communicate an operational plan for completing the project; monitor progress and performance against the project plan.
  • Take action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
  • Identify, develop, and gather resources necessary to complete the project.
  • Prepare engineering designs and work specifications.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5 years of related experience in Engineering and Manufacturing.
  • Proven work experience as a Project Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Excellent knowledge of design and visualization software.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Familiarity with industry rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards.
  • Ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
  • Strong project management and supervision skills.

HOW TO STAND OUT

  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Knowledge of gas combustion principles.
  • Knowledge of heat pump design and heat exchanger optimization.
  • Knowledge of HVAC design principles and vapor compression.
  • Knowledge of analysis & system development tools (e.g. ANSYS/Fluent, ANSYS/Mechanical, MATLAB, LabView, Pro/e, EnergyPlus, GT-SUITE, etc.)
