BWSR is the overhaul Program Subcontractor at the Naval Reactors Facility in Idaho Falls, ID. The main project areas at the site include remediation of historical research facilities, characterization of site-infrastructure to support on-going maintenance and construction.

Electrical Engineer - BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWSR) - Idaho Falls, ID

Your Day to Day as an Electrical Engineer:

+ Perform detailed electrical engineering in support of construction, facility modification, and infrastructure upgrade projects at NRF.

+ Prepare and revise work procedures, calculations, electrical drawings, and related technical documentation.

+ Provide engineering support for electrical power distribution systems, equipment modifications, and facility improvements.

+ Ensure assigned engineering work complies with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and site requirements.

+ Support multidisciplined project teams and coordinate with operations, project management, safety, radiological controls, environmental, procurement, quality, and other disciplines.

+ Conduct field walkdowns, technical reviews, troubleshooting, and engineering evaluations in support of project execution.

+ Review drawings, specifications, vendor submittals, and other technical documents for adequacy and compliance.

+ Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and engineers from other disciplines, as needed.

Required Qualifications:

+ Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering program and a minimum of four years of engineering experience is required.

+ Power systems engineering experience is required.

+ Experience preparing electrical drawings, engineering packages, work procedures, calculations, and technical documentation is required.

+ Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards, including NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 70E, IEEE, and other applicable industry standards, is required.

+ Must be a U.S. Citizen; dual citizenship is not permitted.

+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE L security clearance; current clearance is a plus.
