Talascend is currently seeking an Automotive Design Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Warren, Michigan.
Overview
The role involves designing and releasing exterior components such as bumpers, grilles, and fascia, managing development milestones, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure quality and timely delivery. The candidate will lead root cause analysis and problem resolution efforts, driving quality improvements and cost reductions while gaining valuable program engineering management experience.
Responsibilities
Design and release engineering of bumper, grille, fascia, and trim components.
Manage design and development processes from upfront design to program launch and ongoing improvements.
Collaborate with multiple teams including studio, program, purchasing, supplier quality, and manufacturing.
Own and manage parts list and meet development milestones.
Lead root cause analysis and resolving warranty or assembly issues.
Drive issue resolution, quality enhancement, cost reduction, and design optimization through the Product Development Team.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in automotive design or release engineering.
Basic proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, Project, Excel, and Visio.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with client systems.
Experience with automotive exterior components design and development.
Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
Excellent communication skills within teams and cross-functionally.
