Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Engineering Technician to join our team!
The Federal Aviation Administration ( FAA ) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) to Parsons as the prime contractor. This $1.8 billion+ contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAAs Capital Investment Plan ( CIP ) modernization efforts: Site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, CAD , and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAAs nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 400-500 with a peak staff of over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work.
What Youll be doing:
Assists with site preparation work for voice switches at Enroute Centers and Terminal TRACONs.
Assists with Fiber Optics Terminal System ( FOTS ) installation at various sites throughout the Northwest Region.
Assists with electronics installations, integration and testing for rehoming and monitoring the AFSS radios to the selected Enroute and Terminal Air Traffic, installs other Radio Control Equipment ( RCE ) such as VHF and UHF radio communication systems to transmit and receive radio messages, as well as electrical power panels; conduit; cableways; control cables; duct banks; AC power panels; racks for various FAA systems.
Removes and repairs or replaces components, wires, wire bundles, terminal blocks, and/or connectors.
Solders, splices, or otherwise installs/repairs various wire types including coaxial, shielded, solid, and stranded wires.
