As a Production Industrial Engineer, you will drive improvements across manufacturing operations by analyzing data, optimizing processes, and leading initiatives that enhance production efficiency, throughput, and cost performance.
You will work at the intersection of production, data, and engineering, partnering across functions to ensure manufacturing systems are designed and operating at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies, root causes, and improvement opportunities
Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles and Industrial Engineering methods
Develop and apply discrete event simulation or similar modeling techniques to evaluate production scenarios and optimize system performance
Support production planning activities including capacity analysis, scheduling, and production rate optimization
Partner with Manufacturing and Facilities Engineering to support production line design, layout, and workflow optimization
Establish and monitor performance metrics related to cost, schedule, and throughput
Collaborate cross-functionally across production, engineering, supply chain, and program teams
Drive sustainable process improvements and ensure long-term adoption of solutions
Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers as needed
Provide occasional off-shift support to maintain production continuity
Work Environment
Fast-paced, production-focused environment
High cross-functional collaboration
Exposure to advanced manufacturing systems and analytics tools
Focus on innovation, continuous improvement, and measurable results
About Lockheed Martin Space
Space is a critical domain, connecting our technologies, our security and our humanity. While others view space as a destination, we see it as a realm of possibilities, where we can do more we can innovate, invest, inspire and integrate our capabilities to transform the future.
At Lockheed Martin Space, we aim to harness the full potential of space to cultivate innovation, reduce costs, and push the boundaries of what technology can achieve. Were creating future-ready solutions, focusing on resiliency and urgency through our 21st Century Security vision. Were erasing boundaries and forming partnerships across industries and around the world. Were advancing spacecraft and the workforce to fuel the next generation. And were reimagining how space can connect us, ensuring security and prosperity.
