Job Duties:
Will work directly hands-on in an electrical test lab, building and configuring MCC and switchgear test samples.
Will implement UL and IEC compliance testing in high-current environments.
Will strictly observe electrical safety and LOTO requirements while doing so.
The role includes precise documentation of test setups and results, close collaboration with development and highcurrent lab engineers, and maintaining a 5Sdriven, safe, and organized lab environment to support reliable test execution.
Build and configure Motor Control Centers (MCCs) and switchgear test samples according to engineering drawings and specifications
Assemble electrical and mechanical components to support standardized and custom test configurations
Prepare test setups for highcurrent, highpower electrical testing
Conduct electrical tests following applicable standards, including:
UL 845
UL 891
IEC 614391
IEC 614392
Complete common electrical tests such as:
Short circuit testing
Arc flash testing
Temperature rise testing
Dielectric (hipot) testing
Support safe operation of equipment in highcurrent laboratory environments
Document test procedures, setups, results, and observations
Capture test data, anomalies, and deviations in formal test records
Support traceability and compliance documentation requirements
Follow all electrical safety, LOTO, and laboratory safety procedures
Maintain a clean, organized, and auditready workspace
Apply 5S principles to lab organization and test areas
Support a culture of safety in highenergy test environments
Work with development engineers to support design verification activities
Partner with highcurrent lab engineers during complex or hazardous testing
Provide handson technical support during failure investigation and root cause analysis
Communicate test status, issues, and findings
Qualifications :
Education: Technical school work (up to 1 year)
Handson experience with:
Electrical and mechanical assembly
Power and control wiring
Test instrumentation and lab equipment
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
Mechanical aptitude and handson troubleshooting skills
Demonstrated understanding of:
Electrical safety practices
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
Safe work practices for highenergy systems
Familiarity with Six Sigma concepts and 5S principles
Experience testing MCCs, switchgear, or industrial power products preferred
Familiarity with UL and IEC compliance testing desired

In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
