Overview
We are seeking High Voltage Electrical Engineers at the Junior, Mid-Level, and Senior levels to support the design, analysis, and maintenance of high-voltage power systems. These roles focus on ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical infrastructure across transmission, distribution, and industrial environments.
This position requires strong technical expertise in power systems, safety protocols, troubleshooting, and project execution, along with the ability to collaborate across engineering and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and support high-voltage systems including transformers, switchgear, substations, and transmission/distribution networks
Perform power system analysis, including load flow, short circuit, and arc flash studies
Conduct inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on high-voltage equipment to ensure reliability and safety
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults, implementing root cause analysis and corrective actions
Support commissioning, testing, and ongoing system operation and maintenance
Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering teams, field personnel, contractors, and clients
Prepare technical documentation including drawings, specifications, reports, and system models
Support project planning, scheduling, and execution across multiple initiatives
Technical Skills Required
Power system analysis and modeling (load flow, short circuit, arc flash)
High-voltage equipment design, testing, and maintenance
Protection and control systems
Electrical system troubleshooting and fault diagnostics
Experience with industry tools (ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, or similar)
Electrical design, schematics, and CAD tools
Knowledge of electrical safety standards, codes, and regulatory compliance

Junior High Voltage Electrical Engineer (0-3 Years)
Responsibilities
Assist with system design, analysis, and documentation under supervision
Support testing, inspections, and commissioning activities
Perform basic calculations, modeling, and data analysis
Assist in troubleshooting and field support activities
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Exposure to power systems, circuit analysis, or electrical design
Basic understanding of electrical safety standards and compliance practices
Familiarity with CAD or power system analysis tools preferred
Mid-Level High Voltage Electrical Engineer (3-8 Years)
Responsibilities
Perform independent power system design, analysis, and equipment selection
Conduct load flow, short circuit, and reliability studies
Lead portions of projects including technical execution and deliverables
Support commissioning, testing, and field troubleshooting
Interface with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred)
3-8 years of experience in power systems, utilities, or high-voltage environments
Strong understanding of transmission, distribution, or substation systems
Experience with system modeling tools (ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, or similar)
Knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and compliance requirements
Senior High Voltage Electrical Engineer (8+ Years)
Responsibilities
Lead complex high-voltage engineering projects from concept through execution
Perform advanced system studies (load flow, fault analysis, protection coordination, arc flash)
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and provide technical oversight
Establish engineering standards, best practices, and design methodologies
Act as subject matter expert for power systems and high-voltage infrastructure
Support business development, proposals, and client strategy
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred)
8+ years of experience in high-voltage or power systems engineering
Deep expertise in substations, transmission, and distribution systems
Strong experience in system analysis, design, and commissioning
Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred
Demonstrated leadership and project management experience
Additional Details
Combination of office and field work (substations, plants, job sites)
Travel may be required depending on project scope
Compensation aligned with experience level
In accordance with New York salary transparency requirements, the anticipated annual base salary range for positions is: $80k- $140k annually. Actual compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated project leadership background.
