Position Details Job Title: Facilities Controls Engineer Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (7-Month Assignment) Schedule: Monday-Friday | First Shift | 7:00 AM-4:00 PM Location: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote) Preferred Locations: Within 60 miles of one of the following sites: Charleston, SC Berkeley, MO Huntsville, AL Ridley Park, PA Pay Rate $64.00 - $77.00/Hour Travel: Up to 25% What You'll Do As a key member of the Operational Technology team, you will help oversee and enhance critical building automation and infrastructure systems across a national portfolio. Core Responsibilities: Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving Building Management Systems (BMS), Building Automation Systems (BAS), controllers, sensors, field devices, and integrations Analyze alarms, faults, and unattended conditions to determine root cause and implement corrective solutions Support rollout and integration of enterprise SCADA systems for facility and infrastructure monitoring Evaluate BMS/SCADA integrations with IT/OT systems, analytics platforms, and maintenance systems to ensure reliable data flow Diagnose industrial communication networks and protocols including BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus TCP/RTU, and Ethernet/IP Update technical documentation including control sequences, as-built drawings, network architecture, and commissioning reports Deliver monthly performance reports covering incidents, trends, corrective actions, and planned improvements Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, facilities, production, IT, cybersecurity, vendors, and suppliers Provide contractor oversight and ensure external partners meet technical and quality standards Build strong stakeholder relationships to support strategic operational goals Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical discipline 8+ years of related engineering experience or equivalent combination of education and experience 8+ years working with Building Automation Systems, controllers, and SCADA platforms 8+ years of experience with communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, and BACnet 5+ years troubleshooting industrial communication networks using diagnostic tools and analyzers 5+ years building partnerships with senior leaders, customers, and stakeholders 5+ years leading cross-functional initiatives or multi-team projects Experience with one or more controls platforms including: Honeywell Johnson Controls (Metasys) Siemens (Desigo) Schneider Electric (EcoStruxure) Trane Preferred Qualifications 10+ years of related engineering experience Experience supporting manufacturing, facilities management, supply chain, or IT environments 5+ years commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting building automation systems Experience managing technical contractors and third-party resources Proven success leading controls projects from concept through startup and ramp-up Experience using advanced analytics or AI-driven operational tools Why Join PDS Tech Commercial?
