Position Summary
The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for leading engineering projects that improve manufacturing performance, operational efficiency, and long-term plant growth. This role partners closely with plant leadership, engineering, vendors, contractors, and operations teams to execute projects from concept through implementation while ensuring projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Develop engineering designs, material specifications, feasibility studies, and project cost estimates
engineering principles to improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, and support operational performance
Lead projects from concept through installation andpletion
Coordinate engineering activities with vendors, contractors, consultants, and plant teams
Review engineering submissions, drawings, and technical documentation forpliance and accuracy
Ensure designs meet required codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
Create and maintain project documentation including drawings, manuals, specifications, vendor records, and as-built updates
Support installation planning including layout coordination and utility requirements
Conduct operational reviews and assist with project planning during pre-project phases
Define project scope, prepare proposals, and evaluate contractor and vendor bids
Monitor project progress and provide status updates to leadership teams
Assist with contract administration and project-related documentation
Oversee installations and field work to ensure projects meet quality, budget, and timeline expectations
Manage project budgets and support financial performance targets
Travel to support projects and collaboration across multiple locations
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or related field; or equivalentbination of education and experience
Minimum 5+ years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of engineering design, project execution, and manufacturing operations
Experience with project scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration
Ability to interpret and engineering codes, standards, andpliance requirements
Experience leading projects from planning through implementation
Proficiency with AutoCAD and standard engineering tools
Strong analytical, problem-solving, andanizational skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced manufacturing environments
Comfortable traveling up to 50%
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting food processing, industrial manufacturing, or highly regulated production environments
Previous experience managing large-scale or capital projects
Knowledge of engineering economics and cost analysis
Experience with installation coordination and construction-related projects
Additional Skills
Strong written and verbalmunication skills
Team-oriented leadership style with the ability to build strong working relationships
Adaptable andfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Stronganizational planning and documentation skills
Ability to work effectively in dynamic manufacturing environments
