The Role
Amphenol Military High Speed is seeking an Engineering Manager(Electronics) to work out of its new facility in Endicott, NY.
The key responsibilities of this Engineering Manger (Electronics) include, butare not limited to:
Lead and manage a team of electronics focused engineers (embedded hardware,analog/digital electronics, FPGA/ASIC interface, high-speed design)Oversee the engineering lifecycle for AMHS products: concept, requirements,architecture, design, prototype, verification, qualification, productionhand-offEnsure design compliance with ruggedization standards (e.g., extremetemperature, shock, vibration, altitude) typical for aerospace/defenseapplications.Partner with systems engineering, mechanical engineering, firmware/FPGAteams, manufacturing, test, supply chain and program management to deliver onschedule, cost, and performance targetsFoster technical innovation (e.g., new product development/productenhancements)Define and manage engineering processes, budgets, resources, schedules andrisk mitigation effortsSet and drive metrics for engineering team performance (throughput, quality,reliability/MTBF, cost)Hire, develop, motivate and retain high-performance engineering talent;conduct performance reviews, set individual development plansPromote a culture of continuous improvement, cross-functional collaboration,and technical excellenceProvide technical leadership, coach engineers in their career development,and serve as escalation point for complex technical issuesRepresent the electronics engineering discipline in senior leadershipforums, provide regular updates on portfolio, resource needs and risks

The Person
The key skills and qualities of an Engineering Manager (Electronics) atAmphenol Military High Speed:
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering (EE) or ComputerEngineering (CE)Demonstrated experience delivering complex electronics products (e.g., mediaconverters, Ethernet switches, high-speed connectors, optical modules) throughfull lifecycle in rugged/harsh-environment marketsStrong technical knowledge of analog/digital electronics, signal integrity,high-speed data communications, connector technology, media conversion andembedded systemsExperience managing engineering resources, schedules, budgets andcross-functional dependenciesStrong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills; proven ability tolead and develop engineersProven track record of achieving engineering delivery: defined requirements,managed trade-offs, mitigated risk, and delivered cost/performance targetsFamiliar with aerospace/defense qualification standards(shock/vibration/altitude/humidity, MIL-STD, etc.)Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
PreferredMaster's degree in EE, CE or related fieldExperience in aerospace/defense market electronicsFamiliarity with high-density/quadrax contact technology, fiber opticconversion, rugged media converters or rugged Ethernet switch productsExperience with reliability predictions (MTBF), board-level ruggedization,and test protocols for extreme environments.
