Key ResponsibilitiesLead the expansion of the firm's roadway practice and local market presence, with an emphasis on roadway, highway, and municipal infrastructure projectsServe as a senior technical and business leader responsible for advanced engineering design, client development, and strategic growth of the roadway practice across the regionOversee project execution from concept through delivery, ensuring technical excellence, profitability, and schedule performanceTake an active role in resolving complex design challenges while guiding teams toward successful outcomesProvide visible leadership grounded in ethical decision-making and sound business judgementShape and execute practice-level vision, including business planning, growth strategy, and market positioningEstablish performance goals and ensure accountability across projects and teamsDevelop and sustain strong relationships with public agency and municipal clientsFoster transparent, collaborative communication with partners, leadership, and project teamsBuild, mentor, and develop technical staff while transitioning work appropriately to support team growthAct as a positive, engaged leader who promotes collaboration, accountability, and professional developmentThis role offers significant autonomy, allowing the successful candidate to lead, influence, and expand their own book of business. High performance is rewarded through a competitive bonus structure, with a clear path toward ownership opportunities.Qualifications15+ years of progressive experience in roadway engineering, including project and team leadershipBachelor's degree in Civil EngineeringActive Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of CaliforniaProven track record of winning and delivering roadway work within local and surrounding marketsDemonstrated understanding of the full project lifecycle for roadway and highway projectsEstablished relationships with local agencies and municipalitiesStrong technical background in the design of local roadways, urban freeways, and/or interchange systemsAbility to manage projects profitably while leading multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with key stakeholdersExperience preparing proposals, scopes of work, schedules, and project budgetsCompensation: Competitive base salary ranging from $150,000-$250,000, plus a robust benefits package and performance-based bonuses tied to individual and practice success.
