Job Description

An O&G Operator in The Woodlands, TX is looking for a I&E Project Manager to join their Automation team. This role will start as a 24-month contract role with the possibility to extend. This role will work an in-office hybrid (Tues-Thurs in office, Mon & Fri remote) 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off). The I&E Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing electrical and instrumentation infrastructure projects across oil & gas facilities. This includes design, specification development, project coordination, scheduling, procurement, compliance, and construction support.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Electrical & Instrumentation Design:

Design electrical systems including cable routing, cable sizing, distribution lines, and substation components.

Prepare drawings for grid interconnection, collection systems, transformers, breakers, and power factor correction equipment.

  1. Specifications & Engineering Documentation:

Develop procurement specifications for substations, electrical systems, and I&E components at oil & gas facilities.

Develop and maintain technical specifications, standards, design guidelines, and engineering deliverables.

  1. Project Management:

Set project deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor/summarize project progress.

Develop and manage project scopes, cost estimates, and schedules.

Coordinate in-house and external engineering disciplines, including contract engineering services.

  1. Compliance & Quality:

Ensure projects comply with company standards, regulatory codes, and environmental/safety requirements.

Collect system data (client, utilities, suppliers) for modeling, compliance checks, and optimization.

  1. Construction, Installation & Commissioning Support:

Prepare execution plans, specifications, and bid packages.

Specify, requisition, and expedite I&E materials and equipment.

Coordinate installation activities with construction teams and support turnover to operations.

  1. Optimization & Technical Support:

Analyze project designs; propose improvements to maximize system reliability, safety, and ROI.

Optimize power distribution and support troubleshooting of I&E systems during project execution.

Skills and Requirements

*15+ years of experience executing I&E projects acting as a Project Manager

*20+ years of experience within the offshore O&G industry

*E&I BSc Engineering

*Masters or PMP of Project Management

*Responsible to deliver Capital Offshore Projects, inclusive of

oOperations, Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning interfaces

oManage aggressive schedules and budget

oMeets quality and HSE requirements

oProject estimates and scoping
