Responsibilities
- Develop detailed civil construction plans, drawings, and technical documents for commercial, residential, and site development projects.
- Prepare site layouts and site development plans, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, roadway alignments, and utility layouts.
- Use AutoCAD and Civil 3D to create, modify, and update civil design models, plans, profiles, and details.
- Support land development projects by preparing site plans, grading plans, and other civil design documents in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards.
- Assist with the design of stormwater, drainage, wastewater, and related civil infrastructure systems.
- Collaborate with engineers and other designers to ensure design accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project specifications and regulations.
- Perform drafting and CAD production tasks to support civil engineering design and documentation.
- Coordinate multiple assignments simultaneously, managing priorities to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
- Review and revise drawings and design documents based on feedback from project engineers and stakeholders.
- Communicate clearly with project team members to clarify design intent, resolve technical issues, and support effective project execution.
- Contribute to project management activities by organizing design files, tracking progress on assigned tasks, and supporting documentation needs.
- Apply strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to identify and resolve design challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience using AutoCAD in an engineering or design environment.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD software applications for civil design and drafting.
- Experience using Civil 3D, with the ability to apply it to civil design, grading, and site development tasks (experience using Civil 3D is preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in civil design for land development, site layout, and site development projects.
- Familiarity with stormwater, drainage, wastewater, roadway, and general civil infrastructure design concepts.
- Proficiency in preparing site plans, site layouts, and construction drawings using CAD tools.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with project teams.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and appropriately prioritize workflow in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in all aspects of design and drafting.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet project deadlines.
- Client serviceoriented mindset with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or technical school training with coursework in computer-aided drafting, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with Civil 3D design workflows for land development and site design.
- Exposure to MicroStation or other CAD platforms for civil engineering design and drafting.
- Experience in civil engineering or civil design, particularly related to land development and site development.
- Experience working on data center, commercial, residential, or similar development projects.
- Understanding of grading, drainage, stormwater management, wastewater systems, roadway design, and construction documentation.
- Familiarity with project management principles as they relate to organizing design tasks and documentation.
- Ability to contribute to engineering and drafting tasks across various stages of project development.
This role is based in an office environment where you will work with modern civil engineering and CAD design tools, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and may also interact with platforms such as MicroStation. You will collaborate closely with a team of engineers and designers in a professional, supportive setting that emphasizes communication, teamwork, and client service. The work typically follows standard office hours, with expectations to manage workload effectively to meet project deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $46.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
