DeltaV Batch Automation & Controls Engineer Indianapolis, IN | Onsite PACIV stands for P rocess A utomation , C ontrols , I nstrumentation & V alidation PACIV is seeking an experienced DeltaV Batch Automation & Controls Engineer within biotechnology and life sciences manufacturing environments. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys handson technical work, system ownership, and supporting production systems that operate under strict regulatory requirements. About the Position You will design, implement, and support Emerson DeltaV DCS and Batch systems used in regulated manufacturing environments. You will work across the full project lifecycle, from design and configuration through commissioning, upgrades, and continuous improvement, while collaborating closely with project teams, clients, and validation groups. This is a handson engineering role where your work directly supports safe, compliant, and reliable manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement Emerson DeltaV DCS and Batch automation solutions Apply ISA88 batch control principles , including module classes, phases, and recipes Support automation for manufacturing and skidbased process systems Troubleshoot and optimize live systems in regulated production environments Participate in capital projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and modernization Collaborate with Validation to ensure compliance with cGMP, GAMP, and 21 CFR Part 11 Integrate DeltaV systems with AllenBradley PLCs , HMI/SCADA platforms, and OSI PI Support legacy system remediation and longterm system performance improvements Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Chemical Engineering Minimum 6 years of handson Emerson DeltaV experience , including DeltaV Batch Strong understanding of ISA88 batch automation concepts Experience working in regulated life sciences or pharmaceutical manufacturing Familiarity with P&IDs, URS, FS, DS , and control system documentation Experience with AllenBradley ControlLogix, iFIX, Foundation Fieldbus, or DeviceNet preferred Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to support productioncritical systems Why Work for PACIV PACIV specializes in automation, controls, instrumentation, and validation for regulated industries.
